What The Role Is
You will spend time undertaking policy reviews and research/analyst work in the two energetic and fast-paced Directorates in NPTD:
The Population Policy & Planning Directorate (PPD) drives the whole-of-government effort to tackle challenges and seize opportunities associated with Singapore's current and future population.
The Marriage and Parenthood Policy Directorate (MPPD) drives and co-ordinates whole-of-government efforts to encourage and support Singaporeans in fulfilling their marriage and parenthood (M&P) aspirations.

What You Will Be Working On
Under PPD
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses on population trends projections and policy issues using methods such as statistical analysis, forecasting, econometric modelling and randomised control trials
- Coordinate and drive collaborative population-related policy research and analytics with government agencies and external partners (including academics)
- Provide accurate and timely updates on population trends and scenarios to management
- Provide input on the classification, use and interpretation of population-related data across government
- Develop recommendations to address Singapore's evolving population needs and challenges
- Undertake research and analysis relating to M&P trends and emerging challenges (in the Singapore and international contexts)
- Formulate and review policies to support M&P, consulting and working with diverse stakeholders within and outside the public sector
- Work through operational details with relevant agencies to ensure the smooth roll-out and implementation of policies
- Develop innovative public communications to enhance our strategic messaging and foster a more family-friendly environment in Singapore
- Technical proficiency – strong quantitative skills (e.g., proficient in R or Python), including the confidence to work with large datasets and data analytical tools.
- Deep critical thinking with an eye for detail – strong critical thinking, with the ability to interrogate assumptions, assess trade-offs, and synthesise insights across data and policy domains.
- Strong interpersonal skills – the ability to work with many stakeholders daily.
