Job Description

A Senior Logistics Coordinator is mainly responsible for handling fleet of vehicles, planning the route while making sure operations run smoothly and on time.

Typical job scope

Coordinate deliveries and shipments - arrange schedules, vehicles, drivers, and plan delivery routes.
Process Optimization - Identifies inefficiencies in routing, documentation, or communication and implements improvements.
Manage logistics documentation - prepare delivery orders, invoices etc.
Track shipments - monitor deliveries and update customers or internal teams on delivery status.
Coordinate with suppliers and customers - communicate about delivery schedules, quantities, delays, and requirements.
Handle delivery issues - resolve delays, damaged goods, missing items, or incorrect deliveries.
Update systems and reports - maintain records of orders, shipments, inventory, and delivery status.
Cost control - monitor transportation/logistics costs and look for ways to improve efficiency.
Compliance Management - make sure delivery follow company procedures and relevant transport/safety requirements.
Team Leadership - Supervises junior coordinators, assigns tasks, and mentors staff to improve efficiency.
System Expertise - Utilizes advanced Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other platforms to streamline operations.
Performance Monitoring - Tracks KPIs such as delivery times, cost per shipment, and fleet utilization.
