About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Legal Executive with deep expertise in construction disputes, contract drafting, and development of construction templates. This role is integral to managing contentious matters while also strengthening the organisation's contract framework and risk management processes. The ideal candidate combines strong dispute resolution experience with excellent drafting and standardisation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage construction-related disputes, including adjudication, arbitration, and litigation support
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of construction contracts (e.g., main contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements)
  • Develop, standardise, and maintain construction contract templates and playbooks
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, risk allocation, and dispute avoidance strategies
  • Prepare and review claims, variation orders, extension of time (EOT) submissions, and related documentation
  • Liaise with external counsel, experts, and project teams on dispute matters
  • Support negotiations and settlement discussions with contractors, subcontractors, and clients
  • Monitor and update the organisation on legal and regulatory developments in construction law

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in construction law, with strong exposure to disputes and drafting
  • Proven experience handling arbitration, adjudication, or litigation in construction matters
  • Strong proficiency in drafting and reviewing construction contracts and developing templates
  • Familiarity with standard form contracts (e.g., FIDIC, SIA, REDAS)
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex matters

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors
  • Familiarity with Singapore construction law and industry practices
  • Admission to the bar is an advantage
