Overview
A leading Asian Investment Bank is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its regional investment banking and financial services activities across Singapore and Southeast Asia. The bank's operations include capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, securities-related business, and client coverage.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely legal advice on the full scope of operations for Singapore and other Southeast Asia offices.
- Offer legal support to management and business units regarding applicable laws and regulations.
- Participate in new business initiatives alongside business and risk teams.
- Handle investment banking transactions, including reviewing and negotiating contracts and legal documents.
- Maintain strong awareness of legal and regulatory developments, keeping management and employees informed of relevant legal updates.
- Establish and implement appropriate training programs.
- Create or update policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes, particularly in financial services regulation.
- Exercise sound business and legal judgment, demonstrating the highest degree of professionalism in dealings with clients and colleagues.
- Provide daily operational legal support to various business units within Singapore and other Southeast Asia offices.
- Support the Singapore CEO with legal matters.
- Collaborate with legal teams in other jurisdictions.
