Purpose and Scope
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Legal and Compliance Officer to provide legal and compliance support to the Gas & Related Services Line of Business.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee delivery of legal and compliance services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies, and priorities
- Provide legal support and advice to senior management and all internal stakeholders on legal and compliance matters
- Draft, review and negotiate with external counterparts on a variety of commercial agreements
- Review and provide recommendations on the legal aspects and considerations for resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries
- Manage and maintain company policies, procedures and standards related to legal and compliance matters
- Monitor changes to regulatory requirements and proactively handle regulatory developments and compliance updates
- Provide time-sensitive support on a wide array of legal and compliance inquiries in all operational aspects
- Identify and consult on legal and compliance risks in connection with the company's businesses
- Lead or support special and/or time-sensitive projects and tasks as may be required from time to time
The Ideal Candidate should be

- Self-motivated and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-pressure environment, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working on cross-functional projects involving engineering, finance, and regulatory considerations.
- Having hands-on experience in the following types of matters would be advantageous;
- Dealing with gas (LNG and/or PNG), electricity generation and retail, solar PV installations, and other utilities contracts;
- EPC and O&M contracts, specifically in the utilities/solar PV sector;
- Project development and/or project finance transactions in the energy, utilities or infrastructure sectors; and
- Carbon trading, sustainability and corporate commercial contracts.
- Able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities and complete them timely and effectively, with minimal external legal support.
Qualifications & Experience
- Possess a Law degree from a reputable university with at least 8 to 12 years post qualification legal experience
- Admitted to the Singapore Bar
- High degree of independence, initiative, and decisiveness
- Articulate, good drafting skills and highly effective in English
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to demonstrate sound legal and business judgment, even in ambiguous situations
- Be an effective time manager with the ability to work in a team
