Senior Legal Counsel - Digital Assets - Contract

Our client, a leading organisation in the digital assets and cryptocurrency sector, is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its legal team on a secondment basis in Singapore. Working closely with the Head of Legal, this role will suit a commercially minded and hands-on legal professional who thrives in a lean environment and is comfortable managing a broad range of contentious and advisory matters independently.

As this is an urgent assignment, only candidates who are available to commence at short notice or immediately available will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting litigation, disputes, legal enquiries and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions, including liaising with and managing external counsel where required. In addition, the role will involve advising on a variety of ad hoc legal issues, drafting and reviewing contracts, monitoring legal and regulatory developments, assessing legal risk, and providing support on internal policies and procedures.

Requirements

Candidates should have 8-15 years PQE with strong knowledge of cryptocurrency and digital assets. Experience handling cross-border contentious matters is essential, and prior exposure to the crypto sector is highly preferred. You will be a proactive self-starter with excellent judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously under pressure. Previous in-house experience is advantageous, while a background in financial services would be viewed favourably.
