Senior Legal Counsel, 12-month contract (Sydney)

We're working with a leading global trading firm, to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel to join their Sydney-based Legal team for a 12-month parental leave contract.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a pivotal in-house role supporting the Asia-Pacific operations. You'll be advising on a broad range of trading, derivatives, and OTC regulatory matters, partnering closely with teams across trading, compliance, risk, finance, and operations.

Key accountabilities include:

• Advising on OTC and exchange-traded derivatives, structured products, and trading documentation.
• Supporting implementation of new products, platforms, and regulatory changes.
• Negotiating ISDA and related trading agreements.
• Providing practical, solutions-oriented advice aligned with a fast-paced commercial environment.

About you:

You'll be a qualified lawyer with at least 8 years experience in derivatives, financial markets, or regulatory law, gained in a top-tier firm and/or in-house with a leading financial institution or trading organisation. A strong understanding of AFSL and ASIC regulatory frameworks will be highly regarded.
