About the Role
Our client, a leading financial institution, is looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join their Front Office Trading Technology team. You will work closely with traders, quants, and other stakeholders to design and build high-performance trading systems that support fixed income products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain low-latency, high-performance trading applications using Java
- Work directly with Front Office trading teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement multi-threaded components to optimise system performance and throughput
- Collaborate with quants and business users to support pricing, risk, and trade execution functionalities
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system stability
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and best-practice engineering processes
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of hands-on Java development experience
- Strong background in Front Office trading technology, preferably supporting Fixed Income desks
- Solid understanding of Fixed Income products, pricing, and trade lifecycle
- Proven experience with low-latency and multi-threaded systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with traders and business stakeholders
- Experience in high-pressure, fast-paced trading environments is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with messaging systems, in-memory data grids, or distributed architectures is beneficial
