As a Senior IT System Engineer, you'll tackle challenging problems, design innovative architectures, and build scalable solutions utilizing virtualization and networking technologies to make a real difference.
Responsibilities:
- Server Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain Windows and Linux environments.
- Virtualization & Storage: Administer VMware/Hyper-V platforms, SAN/NAS storage, and ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Networking: Administer networking and optimize connectivity across infrastructure, ensure proper network segmentation and security.
- Daily Operations & Troubleshooting: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot server, storage, and network systems, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Security & Compliance: Apply security best practices, system hardening, and patch management. Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory frameworks such as ISO, CIS benchmarks, and GxP compliance requirements.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery:Implement, monitor, and test backup solutions, develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures.
- Documentation: Create and maintain SOPs, prepare technical documentation, submit and manage change requests, create and execute validation protocols, and prepare network/infrastructure diagrams.
- Cloud & Automation Support:Support cloud services adoption, DevOps tooling (Infrastructure as code, CI/CD), and automation initiatives (IoT, OPC, MQTT, scripting).
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, and other IT-related disciplines.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure.
- MUST HAVES- To articulate and demonstrate proficiency through a portfolio of projects and involvement.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server (2003 - 2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RDS, MSSQL
- Proficiency in at least one major Linux distro for server administration and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS)
- Solid networking skills in LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, firewall, VPN, and load balancers
- Added advantage if the candidate possesses knowledge and proficiency in:
- VBA and SQL programming languages
- DevOps technologies (Terraform, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD)
- Automation and IoT technologies (OPC, MQTT)
- Cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure, GCP)
- Monitoring and observability tools (TIG, ELK stack)
- Added advantage if the candidate obtains professional certifications in:
- Infra (VMware / Microsoft)
- Networking (CCNA / CCNP / CCIE)
- Security (CISSP / CISM / ISO 27001 Lead Implementer)
- Cloud (AWS preferred)
- Capable of troubleshooting and resolving technical problems with minimum supervision.
- Able to work independently and as a team player.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills in English and Mandarin.
- Ability to start immediately or within a short notice period is preferred.
- Work location (AMK/Tuas Area).
