Main Purpose of Job:
To manage a team of Investment Analysts within the Asia Portfolio Management Team and to assist and lead elements of portfolio monitoring and construction across the suite of the AME investment proposition, which includes multi-asset fund-of-funds, discretionary and advisory model portfolios, and regular savings plans, across multiple currencies. The job holder is expected to:
- Lead and proactively evolve key processes that are foundational to the AME investment decision making.
- Deliver accurate and insightful analysis to improve understanding of existing positioning and to identify opportunities in pursuit of leading client outcomes.
- Support regular monitoring and commentary to deliver high quality reporting that is tailored to the end user, be it investment committees, senior management, the Partnership, or clients.
- Support the creation of evidence-based proposals for changes to portfolio positioning.
Key Responsibilities of the Job:
- Lead and support elements of the monitoring, design and change of the SJP AME multi-asset solutions to facilitate industry leading client outcomes.
- Take responsibility to maintain and proactively develop key elements of the investment process and frameworks, exploring opportunities to improve efficiency and lower risk.
- Lead the supervision and oversight of workflow from junior team members to ensure accuracy and exacting standards of reports and analysis are upheld.
- Highlight any key risks or considerations arising from the portfolio and fund monitoring process to the Asia Investment Committee.
- Ensure that monthly and quarterly (or ad-hoc) portfolio and fund reports for Partners are available in a timely manner, and that the portfolio management team is able to manage technical queries from partners.
- Provide investment expertise and knowledge to lead day-to-day operational/communications needs of the other Investment teams and ensure internal compliance regulations complied with by flagging irregularities and potential risks.
- Periodic representation of the AME Portfolio Management team at group-wide governance forums as required.
Requirements of the Job:
Job Knowledge:
- Practical experience within fund research and/or applying portfolio construction theory.
- Ability to lead, manage, influence, and prioritize across multiple workstreams to ensure successful and timely outcomes.
- Ability to analyse large datasets, critically evaluate and enhance key investment processes.
- Adept and meticulous in being able to review large volumes of work and identify inconsistencies and errors.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, VBA, and PowerPoint, ideally with practical experience using programming languages such as python or R.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as CFA.
- Detailed understanding of financial markets and the fund management industry, with the ability to analyze the impact of the market environment and communicate this to a variety of stakeholders.
