Role Overview

We are looking for multiple experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineers and Infrastructure Architects to design, implement and support enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

The role covers infrastructure engineering across Unix/Linux, Windows, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, DevOps, observability, Microsoft 365, identity and access management, and infrastructure security. The position will work across L2/L3 operations, infrastructure delivery, technology transformation and architecture depending on experience and project requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring infrastructure platforms are secure, highly available, scalable, observable and operationally efficient, while supporting infrastructure modernization and service delivery initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Engineering & Architecture

Design, implement and support enterprise infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
Develop infrastructure standards, architecture patterns and technical solutions aligned with business and service requirements.
Provide L2/L3 technical support and lead resolution of complex infrastructure issues.
Review existing infrastructure and recommend improvements for performance, reliability, scalability and security.
Participate in infrastructure transformation, migration and modernization initiatives.

Unix / Linux & Windows Infrastructure

Administer and support enterprise Unix/Linux and Windows Server environments.
Manage operating system configuration, patching, upgrades, availability, performance and security.
Troubleshoot complex operating system, system performance and infrastructure integration issues.
Support virtualized environments and associated compute infrastructure.

Cloud & Kubernetes

Design, deploy and support infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or other enterprise cloud platforms.
Implement cloud infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, IAM and monitoring solutions.
Administer enterprise Kubernetes environments, including cluster operations, workloads, networking, security and platform availability.
Support containerized application platforms and cloud-native infrastructure.

DevOps & Automation

Implement infrastructure automation and DevOps practices using technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, patching, deployment and operational processes.
Collaborate with application and engineering teams to improve deployment reliability and infrastructure efficiency.

Observability & Monitoring

Design and operate enterprise observability and monitoring solutions covering infrastructure, applications and platforms.
Work with tools such as Elastic/ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, Datadog, SolarWinds, SCOM or equivalent platforms.
Develop monitoring, alerting and operational dashboards to improve service visibility and proactive issue detection.
Analyse infrastructure and application telemetry to support performance and incident troubleshooting.

Microsoft 365 & Identity

Support enterprise Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and related administration.
Manage and support Active Directory, Entra ID/Azure AD, authentication, RBAC, group policies and identity lifecycle.
Implement and support identity, access and privileged access controls across hybrid environments.

Infrastructure Security

Implement infrastructure security controls across servers, cloud platforms, identity and endpoint environments.
Support security hardening, vulnerability remediation, patch management and security compliance activities.
Work with security teams on infrastructure risk remediation, access controls and security incidents.
Apply security-by-design principles to infrastructure architecture and implementation.

Infrastructure Delivery & Service Management

Lead infrastructure implementation and technical delivery activities across projects and service initiatives.
Coordinate with application, network, security, database, cloud and service management teams for end-to-end infrastructure delivery.
Manage technical dependencies, implementation plans, risks, changes and operational readiness.
Support Incident, Problem, Change and Request Management within an ITIL-based environment.
Participate in maintenance activities, disaster recovery exercises and operational readiness reviews.

Required Skills & Experience

7-12 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure architecture or related roles.
Strong hands-on experience with Unix/Linux and Windows Server administration.
Experience designing or supporting AWS and/or Azure infrastructure.
Practical experience with Kubernetes administration and container platforms.
Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code and automation, preferably Terraform, Ansible and CI/CD.
Strong understanding of observability and monitoring, with experience using platforms such as Elastic/ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, Datadog, SolarWinds or equivalent.
Good hands-on knowledge of Active Directory and Entra ID/Azure AD, identity and access management and RBAC.
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 enterprise environments.
Good understanding of infrastructure security, vulnerability management, hardening and access controls.
Experience working in enterprise managed services, infrastructure operations or technology delivery environments.
Ability to troubleshoot across multiple technology layers and work with cross-functional technical teams.
Experience leading infrastructure implementation, migration or modernization projects.

Preferred Skills

Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud infrastructure.
Experience with AWS EKS / Azure AKS or equivalent Kubernetes platforms.
Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or ArgoCD.
Experience with cloud security, network security and enterprise IAM.
Exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V or Nutanix.
Experience with infrastructure migration and transformation programmes.
ITIL, cloud, Kubernetes, security or infrastructure-related certifications.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
Relevant professional certifications in cloud, infrastructure, Kubernetes, DevOps, Microsoft, Linux or security will be advantageous.
