The Senior Industrial Engineer will be providing technical support and advice for production optimization in relation to construction & building related matters. He / She is required to blend principles of Industrial Engineering with aspect of construction/building systems, and facility operations. This role will optimize building processes, material flow, labor & systems to improve, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability in construction & facility management for Greenfield Building & assist Building & Construction Principle Engineer in the setting up of Greenfield Operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Process & Flow Optimization
Analyze product flow from raw materials to finished goods, identifying constraints and inefficiencies.
Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and value-stream mapping to optimize production flow.
Design and implement improved routing, scheduling, and workflow strategies to achieve higher throughput.
2. Layout Design & Space Utilization
Develop efficient factory layouts that reduce travel distance, improve ergonomics, and support lean manufacturing.
Lead layout redesign projects using CAD tools and simulation models.
Ensure space planning aligns with future expansion and volume forecasts.
3. Productivity & Efficiency Improvements
Develop and implement productivity improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
Track KPIs such as cycle time, WIP levels, OEE, and takt time to monitor system performance.
Collaborate with operations to troubleshoot bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
4. Material Handling & Logistics
Evaluate and improve internal logistics systems, including AGVs, conveyors, kanban systems, and material storage.
Optimize material delivery routes and inventory locations to reduce WIP and handling time.
Work closely with supply chain and warehouse teams to ensure synchronized material flow.
5. Data Analysis & Simulation
Build and maintain simulation models to test production scenarios and future capacity requirements.
Perform data-driven analysis using tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or Minitab.
Use statistical techniques to validate improvements and forecast performance.
Requirements
Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
At least 8 years of relevant experience in the high product low mix manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and/or industrial engineering tools (5S, VSM, SPC).
Experience with layout design, process engineering, or production planning is preferred.
Proficiency in data analysis and simulation software (FlexSim, Arena, AutoCAD, etc.) is a plus.
