Job Description

A major cloud-based enterprise software company (ERP, HCM solutions). Global tech company, 10,000+ employees worldwide, 200+ in APAC (Singapore HQ). Fast-paced, high-growth, competitive tech talent market. Need a strategic HRBP to partner with APAC leadership on people strategy and execution.

The role: Be the HR strategic partner for APAC region (or major business unit). You'll partner with regional leadership on hiring, organisational design, talent development, and employee experience. Own HR strategy for 200+ people across multiple markets.

You'll own:

  • Business Partnering: Strategic advisor to APAC leadership (VP, directors) on people decisions, org design, talent strategy
  • Talent Acquisition & Hiring: Partner with hiring managers on recruiting strategy, market insights, hiring timelines. Work with TA team on high-caliber hiring.
  • Organisational Design: Advise on org structure, reporting lines, role design as the business evolves
  • Performance Management: Partner with managers on performance conversations, promotion decisions, succession planning
  • Employee Development: Design development programs for APAC talent, identify high-potential leaders, build bench strength
  • Compensation & Rewards: Partner on compensation decisions, equity considerations, market competitiveness
  • Employee Relations: Handle complex people issues, manage difficult conversations, ensure employment law compliance across APAC jurisdictions
  • Onboarding & Integration: Ensure smooth onboarding for APAC hires, build local culture and connections
  • Metrics & Analytics: Track people metrics (turnover, engagement, time-to-hire, retention by role), identify trends and risks

You bring:

  • 10-15 years HR experience (3+ as HRBP, HR business partner, or HR operations partner)
  • Track record as strategic business partner (not just HR administrator)
  • Experience in tech, SaaS, or high-growth company environment
  • Multi-country or regional HR experience (especially Asia-Pacific)
  • Strong understanding of tech talent market (compensation, talent density, competitive dynamics)
  • Comfort with ambiguity and fast-changing business needs
  • Strong stakeholder management (partner with leaders, earn trust, influence decisions)
  • Understanding of employment law across multiple APAC jurisdictions (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and executive presence
  • A growth mindset with new technology — you learn the tools before you're told to, and you're honest about what you don't know yet
  • The ability to give feedback that lands and receive it without armour
  • Stakeholder management across functions — you keep the right people close, informed, and on side
  • Communication skills that hold up with senior leaders — clear, concise, and credible in the rooms where decisions get made

We're looking for someone who:

  • Sees HR as enabling business success (not just compliance or administration)
  • Wants to partner with leaders on strategy, not just execute HR policies
  • Can influence senior leaders (partner, don't just take orders)
  • Understands tech talent market and competitive dynamics
  • Is comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change
  • Has intellectual curiosity about business and talent strategy
  • Thinks systemically (hiring → onboarding → development → retention all connected)

Not required but valued:

  • SaaS or cloud software company experience
  • Tech recruiting or hiring experience
  • Asia-Pacific market knowledge (compensation, hiring practices, visa/labor requirements)
  • HRIS experience (Workday, SuccessFactors, etc.)
  • Consulting or advisory background (helps with strategic thinking)
  • Experience scaling HR operations as company grows

Why this role matters: You're the strategic HR advisor for APAC region of a major tech company. You'll partner directly with regional leadership on business strategy and people strategy. You'll influence hiring, organizational design, and talent development. You'll be visible to executives and help shape the culture and success of the business. This is a platform for becoming Regional Head of HR or Chief People Officer within 3-5 years.

Location: Singapore HQ (travel to other APAC markets monthly, quarterly planning/strategy sessions)
