Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA) is the alternative investment division of the Pictet Group. With expertise across hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and other alternative strategies, PAA provides investment management and advisory solutions to institutional and private clients globally through a collaborative international team of investment professionals.
As a member of the Hedge Funds Investment Team, you will join as a Hedge Fund Analyst. Your main mission will be to source, select and monitor hedge fund managers across the region and collaborate closely with colleagues within your Hedge Fund Investment Team based in Geneva. You will be expected to leverage your professional network of Asian based hedge funds and sourcing relationships. In addition, you will be expected to contribute to the management of hedge fund advisory portfolios for Asia based clients and to participate in marketing and new client pitches.
Your role
- Analyzing, selecting and monitoring regularly hedge fund managers across strategies (event driven, relative value, long/short equity, macro etc), involving extensive travels across the region.
- Contributing to the management of hedge fund products and client mandates.
- Preparing the communication with in-house and external clients for performance reports, market information and other topics linked to the strategies pursued.
- Assisting with preparing reports on activities associated with alternative investment funds (monthly newsletter, monthly and quarterly reports, etc.).
- Active engagement with team on research projects and strategic initiatives.
Your profile
- Master's degree in Finance or a qualification deemed equivalent such as CFA.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in the hedge funds industry, preferably within an investment research function.
- Proven experience covering hedge funds managers in Asia.
- Proven experience as a portfolio manager is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multicultural and international environments, with strong adaptability and collaboration skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English are required. Additional language skills, particularly French or German, would be beneficial for interactions with stakeholders based in Geneva.
