Role Overview
As a senior member of the Alternative Investments team, you will be responsible for hedge fund manager sourcing, strategy research, investment and operational due diligence, and post-investment management. The successful candidate will be expected to work with minimal supervision, deliver high-quality investment due diligence, and present investment memos to the Investment Committee for approval.
Key Responsibilities
Hedge Fund Due Diligence
- Lead or actively participate in manager sourcing, screening, and strategy fit assessment
- Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis, including performance evaluation, risk assessment and operational review
- Prepare high-quality investment due diligence reports and recommendations for Investment Committee approval
- Post-investment management for hedge funds, update performance, research and view in a timely manner
- Maintain and expand relationships with fund managers, consultants, and industry contacts
Strategy & Industry Research
- Track global hedge fund industry developments, sub-strategy performance, and capital flows
- Produce regular strategy outlook update, co-investment or other third-party partnership DD and adhoc researches
- Conduct deep-dive research on asset classes, sectors, and emerging strategies, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities
- Introduce and enhance analytical tools, models, and methodologies to improve research depth and accuracy
Portfolio Analytics & Communication
- Analyze portfolio composition, risk exposures, and performance attribution propose optimization recommendations
- Prepare investment updates, strategy presentations, and thematic research for management and clients
- Participate in client meetings and strategy roadshows, effectively communicating investment rationale and views
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields
- 3-5 years of experience in hedge fund research, investment due diligence, asset allocation, or related roles (Endowment / Pension / FoF / Billion-size single family offices, institutional investment experience preferred)
- Solid understanding of hedge fund strategies (quantitative hedge fund due diligence skill set is a plus)
- Solid skills in financial modeling, performance attribution, and risk analysis (coding capabilities are a plus)
- Fluent in both Chinese and English is required in order to process documents and liaise with counterparties in both languages.
- CFA / CAIA designation or candidacy preferred
- Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects under pressure
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
