Job Description

Job Responsibilities :

  • Conduct geotechnical analysis, soil classification, data analysis, and interpretation of instrumentation works to ensure accurate project planning.
  • Identify soil/rock samples and prepare and submit reports and summary on site conditions.
  • Compare, review, manage records to ensure all survey equipment has a valid calibration certificate.
  • Submit progress reports, technical reports, and assessments on geotechnical issues encountered on-site.
  • Read, review, and interpret project drawings, specifications, and design requirements, and highlight any discrepancies, ensuring adherence to relevant codes and standards.
  • Prepare daily report of tasks completion progress on site.
  • Attend design and weekly meetings.
  • Attend internal coordination meetings with subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Attend daily tool box meeting and pre-start meeting.
  • Propose instrumentation and monitoring schemes to ensure the safety and stability of structures.
  • Work closely with design consultants and tender teams to develop efficient and cost-effective geotechnical solutions.
  • Conduct site inspections with Client, QPS/RE/RTO on site and close the RFI comments.
  • Review design reports and drawings prepared by design consultants to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Provide geotechnical support during construction phases by recommending site modifications and monitoring the execution of geotechnical solutions.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential geotechnical hazards and develop mitigation plans.
  • Ensure that all geotechnical activities comply with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Monitor all instrumentation readings and report to management of any abnormal readings.
  • Liaise with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering, recognised by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB), or a qualification acceptable to the Commissioner of Building Control.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in construction supervision of geotechnical works for projects of similar scale, complexity, and nature.
  • Experience in LTA projects, MRT, tunnelling, deep excavation, shafts, or other major infrastructure projects in Singapore will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in geotechnical design, analysis, construction supervision, instrumentation, and monitoring.
  • Experience in deep excavation, tunnels, foundations, slopes, ground improvement, and/or temporary works will be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical assessment skills.
  • Good knowledge of Singapore's relevant statutory requirements, regulations, Codes of Practice, and engineering standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with Clients, Consultants, Contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Able to work independently, take ownership of technical matters, and operate effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
