Job Summary
Lead fire safety management for building premises by planning, coordinating, and overseeing fire safety, emergency response, and business continuity activities to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee fire safety, emergency response, first-aid, and business continuity activities for building premises to ensure occupant safety and regulatory compliance
- Prepare detailed fire safety and incident reports for fire-related emergencies and submit them to clients and authorities as required
- Review and monitor fire hazards regularly and implement measures to reduce risks on premises
- Conduct fire safety training sessions for client staff to enhance awareness and preparedness
- Perform regular building inspections to identify and rectify fire safety non-compliance issues promptly
- Investigate and analyze fire incidents or accidents on site, report findings, and recommend prevention measures
- Conduct routine inspections of client premises to ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations
- Deliver safety-related training and briefings to clients, subcontractors, and staff to promote safe work practices
- Audit equipment, machinery, and assets regularly to verify operational safety and proper safety protection installation
- Assess risks associated with new or second-hand equipment and machinery purchases and provide recommendations
- Ensure comprehensive risk assessments for all work activities are conducted, communicated, and reviewed with recommendations implemented
- Advise the Facilities Management Team on fire safety matters to support operational safety and compliance
- Support Senior Fire Safety Manager duties as assigned to maintain effective fire safety management
Required competencies and certifications
- Registered Senior Fire Safety Manager certificate (mandatory for legal compliance)
- Certified Fire Safety Manager with at least 3 years of experience as an appointed Fire Safety Manager
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Building, Safety & Health, Environment, or equivalent discipline
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Strong knowledge of emergency preparedness, mitigation, and response protocols
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate as a team player
