Role Overview
The Senior Finance Manager / Finance Manager is responsible for the full spectrum of financial management, reporting, and controls for construction projects and Group entities. This role partners closely with Project, QS, Procurement, and Management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong cost control, robust group consolidation, and compliance with statutory, regulatory, and SGX / listed-company requirements, including IPO readiness where applicable.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Closing
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Prepare management accounts, variance analysis, and Group consolidated financial reports.
Manage group reporting packs, intercompany reconciliations, and eliminations.
Coordinate year-end audit, tax filings, and statutory submissions.
Ensure compliance with SFRS / IFRS, Group accounting policies, and SGX reporting requirements.
Project & Cost Control
Monitor project costs, margins, and cashflow against budgets and forecasts.
Review project budgets, cost-to-complete, provisions, and claims.
Work closely with Project Managers and QS teams on cost tracking, progress billings, and variations.
Ensure proper accounting treatment for revenue recognition, LD provisions, and project accruals.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead annual budget, revised forecast, and long-term financial planning exercises.
Prepare detailed cashflow projections to support management and banker discussions.
Analyse financial risks and provide recommendations to management.
Treasury & Cashflow Management
Manage cashflow, banking facilities, LC, BG, and financing arrangements.
Monitor receivables, payables, and overall working capital.
Liaise with banks and external financiers on funding requirements.
Tax, Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with corporate tax, GST, withholding tax, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate transfer pricing, tax planning, and statutory filings.
Support corporate governance, SGX disclosures, board papers, and management presentations.
Support IPO / listed-company readiness, including audit support, documentation, and internal controls.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and SOPs in line with audit and SGX standards.
Improve finance processes, systems, and reporting efficiency.
Ensure audit-ready documentation and proper record-keeping.
People Management & Stakeholder Engagement
Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members.
Work closely with internal stakeholders (Projects, Procurement, HR, Corporate Secretarial).
Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and external consultants.
Role Requirements:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional qualification (CA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent) preferred.
Senior Finance Manager: Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience
Finance Manager: Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience
Proven experience in construction or project-based industries.
Hands-on experience in group reporting, consolidation, and SGX / listed-company environments.
IPO, RTO, or SGX reporting exposure is a strong advantage.
Strong knowledge of project accounting, cost control, and cashflow management.
Experience handling audits, tax matters, and statutory compliance.
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Experience with ERP systems (construction accounting systems preferred).
