Role Overview

This position supports Ankura Business Services, our internal firm services function. The Finance Senior Manager role is a key position within the Global Ankura Accounting team, reporting to the Finance Controller. This role is primarily focused on the entities in APAC and requires a technically strong experienced professional. The position is located at our Singapore office and requires on-site presence five days a week, though we are open to considering flexible working arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate financial operations across China, Saudi Arabia, and India, ensuring alignment with global objectives while managing and supporting local finance managers in each region.
  • Lead Audits covering Singapore and Hong Kong, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors, and ensuring audits are completed and filed promptly.
  • Prepare annual Financial Statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Support preparation of comprehensive annual working papers for the Audits, incorporating detailed audit samples and extensive supporting documentation.
  • Oversee month-end close process, guaranteeing timely and precise completion of all related activities.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, maintaining full ownership of the P&L and balance sheet, including revenue recognition, expense analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations, to ensure accurate reporting and analysis aligned with group policy and timelines.
  • Collaborate directly with consultants to analyse and optimise their individual profit and loss statements, providing insights and strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and efficiency.
  • Leverage India based accounting team, ensuring APAC accounting operations are run economically and efficiently.
  • Manage intercompany transactions including management fee calculations, ensuring they are conducted efficiently and in compliance with transfer pricing regulations.
  • Review of fiscal returns and statutory reports, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Support Finance Director on various deliverables, including budget and forecast support, cashflow planning and other financial support relating to firm growth initiatives.
  • Facilitate the rollout of new entities, including testing and integration of ERP systems.
  • Manage and mentor accounting team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Ensure the operation and maintenance of a strong control environment that safeguards financial integrity.
  • Identify and implement improvements for inefficient processes, utilising standardisation and automation through technology to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Qualified CA (or equivalent) with at least 7+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Ideally, have worked or studied overseas, enhancing the ability to navigate and understand international business environments.
  • Experience in leading audit.
  • Experience in working in a global organisation in a multicurrency environment.
  • Experience in the professional services preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of working in a complex environment, delivering to deadlines, and managing conflicting priorities.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Use of Workday Financials would be an advantage but not required.
