Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented GL Accountant to support our finance team in an established car dealership company. The candidate will be responsible for daily financial updates, accurate reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting and tax requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
- Update and maintain the daily estimated Profit & Loss (P&L).
- Perform and ensure timely month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules.
- Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns in accordance with IRAS guidelines.
- Assist with audit queries from internal and external auditors.
- Support corporate tax-related queries and provide relevant documentation.
- Work with internal teams to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and support process improvements.
- Handle ad hoc tasks and prepare management reports as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience experience in the automotive or retail industry is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of accounting standards and GST regulations in Singapore.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Navision or similar).
- Strong attention to detail, good analytical skills and ability to work independently.
- Able to meet reporting timelines in a fast-paced environment.
