About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established Private Equity firm, is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to join their close-knit finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure to PE fund accounting in a dynamic environment where learning and professional development are valued.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in the fund accounting function, working on a portfolio of private equity funds and SPVs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to deepen their technical expertise while working in a collaborative, supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and oversee the work of fund administrators, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Prepare LP reports for funds and special purpose vehicles
- Work closely with the finance team on fund accounting matters
- Collaborate with investment teams on deal-related accounting requirements
- Support year-end closing and audit processes
- After training, potentially manage a fund independently
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Approximately 5 years of accounting experience
- Strong fund accounting background, preferably in Private Equity or Venture Capital funds
- Experience reviewing fund administrator work or working within a fund administration environment
- Commercial accounting experience (not exclusively audit background)
- Strong technical accounting skills with attention to detail
- Adaptable mindset with ability to think outside the box and problem-solve independently
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative, close-knit environment
Desirable:
- Buy-side experience in PE, VC, or asset management
- Experience with capital calls, distributions, and IRR calculations
- Understanding of LP reporting requirements and fund structures
