The Role: A Stakeholder Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Field Engineer with 10+ years of experience. This is more than a job it is a leadership pivot. For the right candidate, we are offering equity participation, allowing you to share in the growth and ownership of the company.
You will take ownership and be responsible for ensuring our fleet and new installations meet the rigorous BCA 2026 FI Codes, including the new standards for Vertical Platform Lifts (Enclosed) and IoT-based monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance (FI 2026): Ensure all installations, testing, and commissioning (T&C) align with the Building Control (Fixed Installations) Regulations 2025/2026.
- Advanced T&C: Lead the handover of lifts, ensuring compliance with SS 550:2020, EN 81-41, and the new BCA Code of Practice for VPL (Enclosed).
- Modernization & Digitalization: Lead the integration of mandatory Video Recording (30-day storage) and Remote Monitoring systems as per the latest FI requirements.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex electrical and mechanical faults across multi-brand systems (Otis, Schindler, Kone, etc.).
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and sub-contractors oversee safety protocols and Quality Assurance (QA) on-site.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the technical point of contact for Specialist Professional Engineers (SPE), Architects, and BCA inspectors.
- Permit Management: Oversee the submission of technical data for Permit to Operate (PTO) applications via the updated EITC templates.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in lift installation, servicing, and modernization.
- Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of BCA FI Codes, SS 550, and EN 81 series. Familiarity with the 2025/2026 regulatory shifts is highly preferred.
- Technical Breadth: Proficiency in passenger lifts, home lifts, and platform lifts.
Diagnostics: Expert ability to read wiring diagrams and use diagnostic tools for various European and Asian controllers.
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
