Job Description
The FairPrice Group Supply Chain Business Unit (FPG SC BU) or Grocery Logistics of Singapore Pte Ltd (GLS) is a key logistics service provider to NTUC FairPrice Group and external customers. Our services provided include inbound logistics, warehouse and fulfilment and last mile delivery to the stores, customers and B2C home delivery.
Job Purpose
You will provide building management and facilities management expertise to the Planning & Development project teams. Warehouse Management System team in all development, integration, alignment and change management initiatives relating to the WMS. You will be a key member to contribute towards the actualisation of our warehouse modernisation journey in line with FairPrice Group's 2030 vision and Supply Chain's mult-year programme in modernising and resetting the logistics network.
Responsibilities
- Project & Transition Management
- Take charge of the facility management workstream for the 2-year automation and robotics upgrade project
- Provide expertise on M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) infrastructure design, ensuring base-build systems can support new automation requirements (e.g., power load, data connectivity, floor loading, and cooling)
- Collaborate closely with project managers, automation vendors, and contractors to ensure a seamless integration of new systems with existing infrastructure, minimizing operational downtime.
- Contractor & Vendor Management
- Select, onboard, and supervise external service providers, ensuring adherence to ISO standards, safety protocols, and SLAs
- Lead and drive facility upgrades and equipment retrofits- managing project design, implementation, and handover
- Facility Operations & Compliance Management
- Lead preventive and corrective maintenance for critical systems (HVAC, electrical, fire safety, elevators, security, etc.)
- Ensure all operations comply with BCA, SCDF, NEA, LTA, and JTC regulations and standards
- Serve as the Fire Safety Manager, responsible for emergency preparedness, drills, and regulatory audits
- Drive green building initiatives, including BCA Green Mark certification, energy and water efficiency programs, and carbon footprint reduction
- Change Management, FM for Tomorrow
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking facility management strategy that transitions from traditional logistics operations to a highly automated environment. This involves creating new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), predictive and preventative maintenance schedules for new base building facilities and new robotic systems, and managing the overall building
- Budgeting & Asset Optimization
- Develop and manage CapEx and OpEx budgets for facilities
- Track operational expenses and utilities usage, identifying and implementing cost-reduction opportunities
- Maintain the asset lifecycle database and plan timely equipment renewals
- Team & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead, mentor, and upskill the existing facility management team, preparing them for the technical demands of a modern, automated warehouse
- Identify skills gaps and implement training programs focused on the maintenance of new robotic systems and integrated facility technologies to support facility of tomorrowLead and develop a technical team of engineers and technicians, with clear KPIs and training plans
- Act as the primary facilities contact for internal stakeholders and external parties, ensuring responsive service and issue resolution
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business or any other related profession
Relevant Knowledge And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Technology, or Facilities Management (required)
- Singapore-recognized qualifications such as Diploma in Facilities Management from BCA Academy are preferred
- Minimum 8 years of facility management experience, including at least 3 years in team leadership
- Proven experience managing industrial buildings, warehouses, or transportation hubs
- Proven experience in commissioning testing and handover processes
- Strong knowledge of Singapore's building codes, safety, lease, and environmental regulations
- Proficient in CAFM/IWMS software and interpreting AutoCAD drawings
- Analytical skills in energy and maintenance data interpretation
- Excellent cross-functional coordination and communication skills
- Strong crisis and emergency management capabilities
- Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification is required
- BCA Green Mark Accredited Professional (GMAP) certification is a plus
