Job Description

The Client:

Our client is an eminent global shipping conglomerate with over 150 years of maritime heritage. Operating one of the world's largest and most diverse dry bulk fleets, they are a critical pillar of global trade, moving essential resources across every major continent.

Job Scope:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Operations professional to manage a fleet of Capesize vessels across global trade routes. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end voyage execution, stakeholder management, and driving operational efficiency in line with global sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full operational lifecycle of assigned vessels, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to all charter party terms (Time Charter, Voyage Charter, and COA).
  • Conduct voyage planning including fuel consumption analysis, port rotation, and route optimization. Collaborate with weather routing services to ensure safe and efficient passage.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for ship owners, charterers, brokers, and port agents to ensure seamless communication and dispute resolution.
  • Manage post-fixture duties including laytime negotiations, hire statements, and freight invoicing.
  • Monitor P&L, voyage expenses, and vessel performance metrics.
  • Monitor vessel speed and consumption data. Implement countermeasures for performance deterioration and ensure compliance with IMO regulations and RightShip standards.
  • Manage customer safety surveys and vetting preparations (RCA), coordinating with technical managers to maintain peak operational readiness.

Job Requirements:

  • More than 5 years of experience in dry bulk operations or a closely related shipping field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Deep understanding of maritime frameworks including IMO, MARPOL, RightShip, and the IMSBC Code.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and maritime ERP platforms.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of shipping accounting, including TCE calculations, OPEX, and P&L management.
