Senior Executive, Trade Pricing (Long Haul) - Global Shipping Carrier

The Client:

The client is a leading global shipping company that offers dynamic container transportation and logistics services across international routes. With a modern fleet and a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and innovation, the company provides reliable, end-to-end solutions for clients worldwide.

Job Scope:

The individual will play a crucial part in managing strategic pricing strategies, analysing market trends, and supporting the optimization of trade services to drive profitability and efficiency. Ideally, the candidate should have knowledge in the maritime business.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and synthesize information on trade regulations, tariffs, and market dynamics while performing competitor analysis and assisting in forecasting.
• Monitor and optimize trade performance by analysing P&L trends and providing insights for strategic decision-making.
• Develop and manage pricing strategies, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing across the specific trade lane assigned.
• Oversee the daily pricing process, including the development of rate structures and application of surcharges.
• Implement yield management tactics to ensure an optimal cargo mix.
• Develop trade forecasts through analysing the market.
• Work closely with stakeholders on trade and growth plans to ensure operational efficiencies.
• Monitor shipping operations performance indicators and provide recommendations for enhancements.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelors Degree in Maritime, Business or any related discipline is a plus.
• More than 1 year of experience in the shipping industry with strong background in pricing/yield management.
• Individuals with great communication and stakeholder management skill is a plus.
