COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Founded in 2011, Empact is a leading social enterprise with the mission to build the capacity of social organisations (referred to as non-profit organisations and social enterprises) in Singapore and the region. Through our cross-sector collaboration with sector developers, grantmakers, corporates and volunteers, we bridge the capacity gap of the social service sector by channelling talents, skills and resources to co-create innovative solutions, thus empowering our clients to make a greater impact.

To date, Empact has worked with more than 2,000 social organisations in the region, with a contribution of savings of up to $9 million in professional services rendered pro bono for the sector.

Empact was conferred a Company of Good (3 Hearts) by Singapore's National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) in 2025. The organization also won the President's Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards (PVPA) City of Good Award in 2022 for the Pro Bono School initiative in partnership with Procter & Gamble and Credit Suisse, as well as the President's Challenge Social Enterprise Champion 2023 award in recognition of our sustained contribution to the social enterprise ecosystem.

RESPONSIBILITIES

An Overview

Through our Shared Services department, we empower non-profits and social enterprises by providing affordable and professional services that are critical for their daily operations, such as bookkeeping, donation tracking, and accounting, to payroll and human resources support. By bridging this gap, we enable our clients to focus on fulfilling their social mission and scaling their social impact.

We are currently looking for a Senior Executive who will be directly responsible for an assigned client portfolio, while working closely with our team of Client Services Managers / Senior Executives / Executives and guiding our interns and volunteers to provide accounting, HR and consultancy services (including digitalisation and financial process improvements) to our non-profit and social enterprise clients.

Roles and Responsibilities

Your job role will comprise:

  • Managing and maintaining a good client relationship with our Shared Services clients and ensuring on-time delivery of services
  • Performing accounting, financial reporting, payroll, GST, tax and other shared services functions for our clients
  • Supporting supervisors in liaising with the clients on assigned tasks
  • Attending to clients accounting / audit queries and requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Guiding team members, volunteers and interns in the delivery of services and problem-solving
  • Coordinating and scheduling on-going volunteer or intern sessions
  • Reviewing deliverables by the volunteers and interns
  • Managing projects and consulting engagements in the areas of finance, digitalisation onboarding/ transformation, process re-engineering, cashflow forecasts, financial/payroll related operating models and service delivery
  • Assisting in ad-hoc business development for new and existing clients

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least a Diploma in Accountancy or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in the areas of accounting and financial reporting
  • Experience in audit or management consultancy in a professional public accounting firm will be advantageous
  • Experience in managing external clients and their teams ability to project professionalism and credibility in client interactions - in both interpersonal terms and subject matter expertise
  • Experience in preparing a full set of accounts
  • Experience in project management adaptable to change and able to communicate and build rapport with diverse stakeholders (clients, interns, volunteers)
  • Proficiency and patience in communicating financial principles to stakeholders who have no accounting knowledge
  • Familiarity with charity accounting standards will be advantageous
  • Good subject matter knowledge across a range of financial, payroll and digitalisation-related capabilities including business or enterprise organisational and operational change
  • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting and HR software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and Google Suite prior experience with Xero and QuickBooks preferred
  • Tech savvy curiosity to derive value from Tech and AI
  • Good interpersonal skills, a positive disposition, and ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures, backgrounds and perspectives
  • Good oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong can-do spirit, initiative and sense of ownership
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to change and handle stress
