Senior Executive (Leadership)
The Senior Executive will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of leadership initiatives for young and emerging leaders within the Labour Movement. This includes managing programmes that nurture aspiring union leaders, student leaders from Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), and volunteers, while also promoting scholarship opportunities. The role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Committee Programmes
- Support the planning and coordination of committee meetings, leadership development workshops, and networking events.
- Proactively identify high-potential individuals within the existing pool of participants and guide their progression from engaged participants to future leaders.
- Maintain records of participation, feedback, and outcomes to inform future programming.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align committee goals with broader union objectives.
Outreach effort
- Coordinate with internal teams for outreach efforts to IHLs to recruit and engage student leaders with a passion for social impact and advocacy.
- Proactively identify high-potential individuals and guide their progression into leadership pathways.
- Support the design and delivery of leadership development modules, immersion experiences, and mentorship activities tailored to students interests and Labour Movement values.
- Facilitate meaningful interactions between student leaders and union representatives to foster cross-sector learning and deepen understanding of labour-related issues.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for programme activities, including tracking participant progress and managing communications.
Scholarship Management
- Manage the end-to-end scholarship application and selection process, ensuring transparency and accessibility for all eligible students.
- Curate and implement a structured developmental programme for award recipients, focusing on personal growth, leadership exposure, and community engagement.
- Liaise with educational institutions and applicants to ensure smooth communication and documentation for scholarship renewal.
- Organize award ceremonies and publicity efforts to promote the scholarship programme and its impact.
- Monitor awardee progress and maintain alumni engagement to foster long-term connections with the Labour Movement.
Volunteers Management
- Maintain a database of volunteers, ensuring accurate tracking of involvement and contributions.
- Support the planning and execution of volunteer engagement activities, including training, recognition, and deployment.
- Assist in developing strategies to sustain volunteer interest and deepen their involvement in the Labour Movement.
- Coordinate with other departments to match volunteers with suitable opportunities.
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Public Policy, or related fields.
- 13 years of experience in community engagement, programme coordination, or leadership development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
- Passionate about developing emerging leaders and advancing the Labour Movements mission.
