Job Description:
1. Monthly Closing and Premium Booking Governance
- Review post-bind insurance slip to ensure completeness and accuracy (e.g. slip/period/terms and conditions/premium as agreed) prior to processing.
- Summarize and verify each risk in the prescribed format, and issue clear and accurate processing instructions to the Processing Admin team for policy issuance.
- Validate that system booking is completed correctly in line with processing instructions and underwriting intent.
- Monitor premium booking progress throughout the month and provide real-time updates to support month-end closing, including maintaining the monthly booking list on a real-time basis.
2. Underwriting Support and Renewal Execution
- Consolidate underwriting information received from intermediaries and structure data for underwriting review and decision-making.
- Prepare pricing model outputs to assess rate adequacy and support underwriting recommendations, and present key findings to the underwriters.
- Draft slips and supporting documents based on underwriter direction and coordinate placement/queries with intermediaries.
- Support renewal preparation, including risk selection inputs and ensuring required information is captured and documented.
- Send renewal reminders to intermediaries and closely follow up on marine renewals through binding.
3. Reporting, Analytics, and Management Information
- Extract premium and claims data from internal systems validate data integrity and reconcile variances prior to reporting.
- Prepare analysis and presentation materials for monthly/annual reporting and portfolio review.
- Produce recurring management reports, including but not limited to:
- - Contract Certainty Report
- - GWP Variance Analysis Report
- - Renewal Updates and Effective Rate Movement Report
- - Data analysis and presentation materials for the monthly Business and Operations Development Meeting / Quarterly Portfolio Review.
4. Controls and Compliance
- Support adherence to internal underwriting guidelines, operational controls, treaty exclusions and relevant regulatory requirement by ensuring documentation and booking practices are compliant andaudit-ready.
5. Claims Support and Performance Tracking
- Upon claims notification, summarize keydetails and share with the underwriters in the team for visibility and action, where required.
- Coordinate and confirm performancereflection/booing items relating to claims (as applicable) for reporting and portfolio tracking.
6. Premium Collection Support and Reconciliation
- Support Finance/Credit Control in liaisingwith intermediaries to follow up on outstanding premium collections.
- Assist the Processing/Admin team to identify policy numbers for unidentified remittances, and support Credit Control in Reconciling received Premiums to the corresponding policies.
Technical Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of marine insurance is preferred.
- Candidates without marine insurance exposure should possess strong logistics operations knowledge, including hands-on experience with shipping documentation and processes (e.g. invoicing, Bills of Lading, shipping instructions, and related trade documents).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is required.
Soft Skills:
- Quick to grasp context and workflows, with a strong ability to summarize key points clearly.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong documentation discipline
- Strong numeracy with the ability to validate figures, spot discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
