About the Role
You will advise line managers, ensure statutory compliance, drive frontline retention, and execute day-to-day HR operation interventions for efficiencies. You work closely with hiring team to ensure manning and RTAT numbers are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Assist to execute the Smollan management team's decisions on short-/long-term People initiatives in line with the company's business direction.
- Implement tactical day-to-day People processes across business operations, drive for simplified effectiveness.
- Assess and anticipate HR-related needs proactively, responsible for aligning business objectives with people management.
- Support and facilitate an effective team structure, processes, and operational framework to support the implementation of clients strategic and joint business development plans - proposes cost-effective solutions for workforce optimisation.
- Implement and monitor standardised solutions across Business Units.
- Keeping abreast with new developments in legislative and employee matters.
- Record and supply information on labour turnover (LTO) - total, voluntary, involuntary attrition.
- Complete and submit relevant People (HR) Reports as per the communicated timeline.
- Proactively maintain, manage and provide feedback on the local competitor landscape (C&B and local industry movers and shakers).
- Prepare periodical reports to provide validated People metrics and benchmarks to support business decisions.
- Manage and execute exceptional people experience initiatives, including employee engagement, performance, retention and training environments to ensure an extraordinary place to work.
- Execute change management initiatives across the organisation.
- Establish an Employer Brand/Employee Value Proposition to be the Employer of Choice.
- Drive awareness and socialise Impact & Inclusion across all levels.
- Ensure that People (HR) delivery is in line with all Company Policies and Procedures.
- Involved in other ad-hoc matters or projects as assigned by the line manager from time to time.
Qualifications
- Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Professional certification (e.g., IHRP Certified Associate) is a strong added advantage.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in HR with a strong foundation in HR Operations, Recruitment or Payroll.
Required Skills
- Strong organization, communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to onboard new employees and manage HR tasks.
- Proven track record in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (FMCG, retail, or agency/BPO experience is highly advantageous).
- Demonstrate experience in developing and implementing People strategies/initiatives to achieve business goals with tangible People metrics.
- Proven HR operational execution and management within fast-changing environments (FMCG, retail knowledge advantageous).
- Demonstrate understanding of the business, its levers for growth, its change dynamics and critical success factors.
- Demonstrate experience in analysing complex data, understanding business implications and making recommendations to the management team.
- Demonstrate experience and knowledge in both strategic and tactical People core functions.
- Solid understanding of the Singapore Employment Act, TAFEP guidelines, and MOM regulations (including the Progressive Wage Model - PWM and COMPASS framework).
- Solid numeracy and quantitative analysis skills.
- Excellent proficiency in office productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace).
- Ability to work with diverse cultures and multiple levels.
- Deep appreciation of potentially sensitive matters/situations and the ability to handle such situations.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with diplomacy in communicating intended messages in a manner that is respectful and positively received.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is a must.
