Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide and oversee specialist maintenance support to theme park Show Elements, including figure finish and preserving appearances to strict IP (Intellectual Property) of popular movies or brands.
  • Scope will include all animated figures, animated props, vehicle foam & panelling (as necessary) and other show action equipment, resortwide.
  • Establish maintenance priorities and schedules to support execution of scenic restoration, repainting, artistic finishing, refurbishment projects and operational readiness while minimizing guest impact.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities including resource allocation for show elements.
  • Execute and coordinate responses to the needs of supervisors, ride maintenance technicians, OEMs and wider stakeholders including Universal Destinations and Experiences (UDX), Art Directors and other RWS Business Units.
  • Support external vendors, contractors, and specialty fabricator's contribution to maintenance and enhancement projects.
  • Analyze recurring maintenance issues and implement corrective actions to improve reliability, maintainability, and long-term cost efficiency.
  • Identify innovative materials, repair methodologies, and industry best practices to enhance asset durability and show quality.
  • Utilize the Enterprise Asset Management System (Maximo) to accurately manage work orders, asset histories, maintenance documentation, labor allocation, and material usage.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Technical Specialists and contractors performing show element maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) practices and foster a strong safety culture within the team.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Scenic Arts, Entertainment Technology, Facilities Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in themed entertainment, attractions, museums, exhibitions, scenic fabrication, theatre production, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of show element construction, scenic finishes, animatronic aesthetics, themed environments, and asset preservation principles.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, design specifications, artistic references, and maintenance documentation.
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic operating environment.
  • Comfortable working at heights and within operating attractions and themed environments.
  • Willing to ride attractions when required for inspection, evaluation, and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Able to perform shift work, including on weekends and public holidays.
