[What the role is]
Supports the Landscape Unit as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) overseeing horticulture, arboriculture, irrigation, greenery quality, and compliance on Sentosa.
The role ensures that landscape assets are safe, healthy, compliant, and well-managed, while supporting sustainability and operational excellence goals.
[What you will be working on]
- Arboriculture and Tree Management
- Ensure tree health, treatment compliance, and maintenance quality of IFM for all trees on Sentosa within maintenance boundary including heritage and valuable trees.
- Review IFM performance and enforce standards.
- Conduct tree risk assessments and provide technical recommendations.
- Provide technical advisory for tree health, retention, relocation, and safeguarding for trees in project development boundaries.
- Certify trees for removal or works prior to commencement, as required under development processes.
- Horticulture Excellence
- Implement and monitor enhanced horticulture and maintenance regimes.
- Ensure plant health, treatment compliance, and maintenance quality of IFM.
- Review IFM performance and enforce standards.
- Provide advisory on plant care, soil conditions and treatment methods.
- Support continuous improvement and test-bedding initiatives for horticulture excellence.
- Water Demand and Water Crisis Management
- Review irrigation and water-use performance and efficiency in relation to plant health response and outcomes.
- Support development of island-wide greenery water strategies and water crisis planning.
- Projects & Stakeholder Support
- Support development and IP projects on tree protection, greenery compliance during works, etc.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders contractors on implementation issues.
- Landscape improvement implementation and support for precinct activation/dress up.
- Management of greenery and nature area.
- Admin and other duties as assigned from time to time.
[What we are looking for]
- Diploma or Degree in Horticulture, Arboriculture or related fields
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in arboriculture and landscape management
- Strong technical knowledge in arboriculture and tree risk management
- Strong technical knowledge in horticulture maintenance practices
- Experience in managing contractors and site operations
- Candidate who is ISA Certified Arborist with relevant hands on experience in arboriculture management practice and familiar with tropical trees / taxonomy as well as landscape project management will have an advantage
- Strong technical judgement and problem-solving skills
- Stakeholder coordination and communication
- Structured, methodical and compliance-driven work style
- Minimally Class 3 driving licence
- Digital literacy
