Responsibilities
- Analyze and design engineering solutions, collaborating with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safety and effectiveness. Identify and consolidate engineering standards to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements for mechanical and electrical systems. Conduct certification for workshop maintenance capabilities in line with established procedures. Develop work instructions, testing parameters, and test equipment to elevate workshop repair and overhaul capabilities. Investigate defects to determine root causes and utilize fault tree analysis and forensic investigation methods. Review project design specifications, ensuring safety, reliability, and maintainability standards. Adhere to all safety requirements in maintenance depots or facilities, working in rotating or fixed shifts as specified. Develop data analytics and condition monitoring to facilitate a shift from preventive to predictive maintenance. Undertake additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution. Demonstrated competency in dashboarding tools such as PowerBI or similar software. Previous experience in railway systems is advantageous. Proficient in programming languages, particularly Python or equivalent. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a hands-on approach in a workshop environment. Ability to independently visualize data to convey concepts and trends effectively. Familiarity with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods, including FMECA, fault tree analysis, and Weibull analysis. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
