Job description:
Job PurposeThe Senior / Executive Engineer, Front Line Maintenance involves leading night shift operations to troubleshoot complex train faults, ensuring timely corrective maintenance and availability for AM peak hours. It includes preparing investigation reports for technical forums, attending weekly meetings with Alstom and LTA for reliability improvements, and coordinating material procurement and resource management. The responsibilities also cover reviewing contractor submissions for safety compliance, updating work instructions, and assessing technical bulletins for changes in specifications and maintenance requirements.
Responsibilities- Lead day and night shift operations, guiding the team in on-site troubleshooting of complex faults and ensuring timely corrective maintenance to meet train availability targets for revenue service
- Conduct and present technical investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions
- Participate in regular technical engagements with stakeholders (e.g. Alstom, LTA) to support reliability improvement initiatives, AFM activities, and fleet performance optimisation
- Prepare and submit technical and operational reports, including monthly progress updates, Work Group reports, and materials for meetings
- Develop technical specifications and manage procurement processes for services and materials, ensuring compliance with operational and engineering requirements
- Monitor material movement and maintain proper tracking of repairable components to ensure availability, traceability, and accountability
- Review and validate contractor submissions (e.g. method statements, risk assessments), ensuring adherence to technical, safety, and regulatory standards
- Develop, review, and update maintenance documentation, including Work Instructions (WI), Quality Procedures (QP), and risk assessments to support safe and effective operations
- Assess technical bulletins and updates from OEM (e.g. Alstom) for impact on maintenance regimes, system performance, and material requirements, and implement necessary changes
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities for new or upgraded systems, ensuring readiness for operations and maintenance
- Provide technical advice and support to Maintenance management, Operations Control Centre (OCC), and other stakeholders during fault response and operational decision-making
- Actively promote and participate in the organisation's safety culture and continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives, including identifying risks, reporting near misses, and driving improvement actions to enhance operational safety and efficiency
- Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works assigned by Supervisor when required
- Responsible for their own as well as their Team's Safety. Staff shall uphold the CCL Safety Mission and 3 principles to complete tasks, perform duties, fulfil the goals of the organization, and adhere to the individual roles and responsibilities
- Ad-hoc related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications & Work Experience- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Technology / Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
