The Senior Executive/Assistant Manager, Surgery ACP will assist the supervisor in achieving Surgery Academic Clinical Programme (ACP)s Academic Medicine vision and mandate, with primary support to the pillars of Research, Innovation, Global Surgery Programme & Philanthropy. You will oversee, manage and execute the smooth running of these functions in Surgery ACP.
For the Research and Innovation front, you will be primarily responsible for smooth operations in research and innovation grants and administrative support such as tracking of research studies, compilation and management of grants awarded, financial management, projects, budget control, resource allocation, management reporting, writing of minutes and handle ad hoc queries.
For the Philanthropy front, you will manage and execute the smooth running of the Philanthropy functions in Surgery ACP and will be primarily responsible for smooth operations in Fundraising, Grants management as well as Strategic Planning/Projects. You will facilitate and support fundraising initiatives to fund academic programmes and work closely with various stakeholders to administer necessary paperwork required for successful disbursement of funds for clinicians and their projects.
You will provide administrative and operational support to the Vice-Chairman (Research) and Deputy Vice-Chairman (Research) for the projects assigned by supervisor.
You are responsible to assist the supervisor in managing relationships with key stakeholders, collaborate with other functional group within and beyond Surgery ACP to support milestone achievement, hosting and presenting where required and manage issues and obstacles.
Responsibilities
Work closely with ACP-Surg Research leadership to brainstorm, develop and implement new initiatives that support research.
Support strategic planning/budgeting exercises, retreats, preparation of management Reports and etc.
Advise PIs on contractual requirements. Assist in reviewing contracts and preparing budgets for new studies. Liaise with legal for advice and directives.
Advise and co-ordinates all research grant applications and ensure that the applications are complete according to guidelines and stipulated requirements.
Post award activities could include budget, financial reconciliation, data management of research info, progress reports etc.
Plan, schedule and coordinate meetings to initiate agenda items after consultation and facilitate discussions with the relevant Chairperson and stakeholders.
Co-ordinates, manages and supports workshops, seminars and conferences organised/sponsored by Surgery ACP.
Any other requests as required.
Job Requirements
Degree, preferably in science, engineering or health sciences
Familiarity with research, either as an investigator or administrator preferred
Familiarity with an academic healthcare setting also advantageous
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
A good team player who is able to work independently
