Job Scope:
The individual will play a crucial part in managing strategic pricing strategies, cargo flow management, analysing market trends, and supporting the optimization of trade services to drive profitability and efficiency. Ideally, the candidate should have knowledge in the maritime business.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and synthesize information on trade regulations, tariffs, and market dynamics while performing competitor analysis and assisting in forecasting.
- Monitor and optimize trade performance by analysing P&L trends and providing insights for strategic decision-making.
- Develop and manage pricing strategies, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing across the specific trade lane assigned.
- Support the capacity management of vessels and to support cargo flow in and out of specific routes.
- Oversee the daily pricing process, including the development of rate structures and application of surcharges.
- Implement yield management tactics to ensure an optimal cargo mix.
- Develop trade forecasts through analysing the market.
- Work closely with stakeholders on trade and growth plans to ensure operational efficiencies.
- Monitor shipping operations performance indicators and provide recommendations for enhancements.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelors Degree in Maritime, Business or any related discipline is a plus.
- More than 2-3 years of experience in the shipping industry with strong background in pricing and/or cargo flow management.
- Individuals with great communication and stakeholder management skill is a plus.
- *Title of the role will commensurate experience.
- **Only individuals from a Maritime/Container shipping background will be considered as the role requires managing container vessels and trade routes.
