Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management, including annual workplans, milestones, timelines, technical requirements, and delivery targets.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the steering committee, senior management, donors, and key partners, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Manage cross-functional teams of staff, consultants, and vendors, fostering a collaborative and accountable project culture.
  • Oversee day-to-day project execution, proactively identifying risks, bottlenecks, and mitigation measures to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery.
  • Establish and maintain project governance, including risk and issue logs, documentation standards, and escalation protocols.
  • Coordinate and review key project documentation, such as contracts, technical drawings, specifications, and installation or operational reports.
  • Serve as the primary liaison across internal departments-including Conservation, Education, Digital, Partnerships, Fundraising, Communications, and Finance-and with external partners, vendors, and technology providers.
  • Manage technical and operational requirements, including AV, VR, sensors, touchscreens, lab/tank systems, and other specialised equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Oversee multi-year project budgets, covering manpower, equipment, facilities, digital development, procurement, grants, and in-kind contributions, ensuring effective financial tracking and resource utilisation.
  • Drive integration of science, education, and experiential design to ensure cohesive and impactful visitor, learning, and community engagement outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Education, Public Policy, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project or programme management, ideally within education centres, visitor-focused programmes, exhibitions, or community engagement initiatives.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with a track record of managing complex, multi-component projects and coordinating diverse stakeholders (vendors, partners, volunteers, public).
  • Proven ability in budget management, vendor management, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate long-term visions into operational plans.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in multi-stakeholder or dynamic environments.
  • Self-starter with high drive, able to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to manage tight timelines and evolving priorities.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond effectively to organisational needs.
