Job Description

The Industrial & Employee Relations Senior Executive/Assistant Manager plays a key role in fostering a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with labour laws/regulations, and managing industrial relations across the organisation. This position is responsible for negotiating collective agreements, addressing employee grievances, and supporting managers with employee relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Industrial Relations:

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, management, and labour unions.
  • Design and implement industrial relations strategies to foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Lead negotiation and manage collective agreements with unions and employee representatives.
  • Oversee grievances handling, dispute resolution, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and legal standards.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant labour laws and regulations, stay updated on changes, and advise the organisation accordingly.

Employee Relations:

  • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations issues.
  • Conduct investigations into employee relations concerns, recommending and facilitating fair and equitable resolutions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial relations and employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws and regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proven experience in managing HR projects and initiatives.
  • Experience working within a unionised environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
