Job Description
As a core team member of the NUS College Communications (Outreach) team, the Senior Executive/ Assistant Manager supports the execution of marketing, digital content, media and brand communications initiatives to enhance the College's brand mindshare, reputation and visibility. This hands-on operational role involves campaign execution, content creation, social media management, event coverage and administrative support to engage key internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsbilities
- Brand & Public Relations
- Execute 360-degree brand communications campaigns and activations aligned with NUS College (NUSC) brand positioning and strategic goals.
- Maintain and enforce brand guidelines across all touchpoints, ensuring consistency across digital, print, collateral, and physical spaces.
- Coordinate facility branding requirements in liaison with the infrastructure office.
- Oversee and manage the corporate gift inventory, ensuring stock availability and brand alignment.
- Assist with drafting press releases, pitch angles, media responses, speeches and leadership communications.
- Maintain media contact lists, coordinate interview logistics, monitor coverage and track brand mentions.
- Assist in monitoring potential PR issues or sentiment risks.
- Content, Website & Social Media
- Plan, write, schedule and publish daily content across NUSC social media channels (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).
- Support the rollout of digital marketing campaigns, including paid ads, influencer engagement and visual asset production featuring students, alumni and faculty.
- Write, edit and proofread website copy, newsletters, articles and collateral in alignment with house style guidelines.
- Maintain and optimise website content, update profile databases and manage newsletter subscriber lists.
- Monitor social media channels, manage online community engagement and handle general inquiries directed to the official mailbox.
- Event Management
- Provide operational and communications support for internal and external events, including live social media coverage, photography coordination and post-event content distribution.
- Measurement, Training & Operations
- Track, compile and report performance metrics across PR, web and social media campaigns to highlight insights and optimisation opportunities.
- Assist in gathering data for brand audits, sentiment surveys and competitor benchmarking.
- Coordinate and assign day-to-day work to student writers, photographers and videographers covering NUSC events.
- Assist in conducting onboarding and briefings for student creators regarding brand guidelines and content best practices.
- Perform cross-functional administrative duties and general operational tasks as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in marketing communications, content creation, social media management and PR support.
- Proven experience in executing digital campaigns and collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a working knowledge of Simplified Chinese to engage relevant media or channels.
- Strong organisational and project management skills with high attention to detail under tight deadlines.
- Hands-on proficiency with Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress), social media management tools and email marketing software.
- Practical understanding of digital analytics (SEO, SEM, social performance metrics, Google Analytics) and emerging digital trends.
- Basic working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, or Canva) is advantageous.
- Reliable, adaptable and collaborative team player with an interest in higher education.
