Job Description

To support Artwork Management operations across exhibitions, projects, art fairs, sales and inventory, ensuring the proper care of artworks, accurate documentation, and timely coordination of assigned responsibilities.

CoreResponsibilities

  • Coordinate artwork management requirements for art fairs, including condition checks, framing, photography, packing and crating, and provide on-site support during installation and deinstallation of local art fairs, as required.
  • Support sales and after-sales requirements, including artwork viewings, pricing exercises, artwork photography, quotations, and delivery of artworks and Certificates of Authenticity (CoAs).
  • Maintain complete and accurate artwork records in Artlogic and relevant master lists, including registration details, condition records and artwork movements.
  • Assist with stock takes, investigate discrepancies and reconcile inventory records to ensure artworks are accurately accounted for.
  • Facilitate day-to-day artwork retrieval and movement, ensuring safe handling and accurate location records.
  • Work with internal departments and external vendors to meet project requirements, resolve operational issues and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Work collaboratively within the Artwork Management team, providing support across portfolios to meet departmental priorities and operational needs.
  • Guide interns within the Artwork Management team in supporting departmental activities.
  • Maintain orderly artwork storage areas and workspaces, reporting conditions that may affect artwork care or safe handling.
  • Undertake other duties assigned by M (Artwork Management) or Dir, P & AM.

Job Specifications:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in museum or gallery operations, artwork handling, registration or inventory management would be an advantage.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Meticulous and resourceful, with sound problem-solving skills.
  • Responsible and proactive, able to work independently and collaboratively, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop.
