Senior Engineering Manager

Overview

A leading Japanese general contractor is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to support the delivery of a major upcoming project.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the project Engineering Department, including Drawing, Architectural, Engineering, and QA/QC teams.
• Review and provide technical guidance on structural concrete and structural steel works.
• Coordinate and resolve design and construction-related technical issues with consultants and project stakeholders.
• Drive engineering reviews, technical decision-making, and project execution strategies.
• Manage project progress and facilitate timely resolution of engineering and construction challenges.
• Ensure effective coordination among design, engineering, construction, and quality teams.
• Oversee quality, safety, and construction program management from an engineering perspective.
• Mentor, develop, and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Act as a key liaison between consultants, clients, contractors, and internal departments.
  
  

Requirements Required

• Degree in Architecture, Building Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in large-scale building construction projects.
• Proven experience in engineering management across design, construction, and QA/QC functions.
• Experience managing major developments such as commercial buildings, mixed-use developments, high-rise buildings, institutional projects, or landmark developments.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with consultants, design firms, clients, and contractors.
• Business-level English communication skills to coordinate effectively with multinational stakeholders, consultants, and internal teams.
  
  

Preferred

• Professional qualification such as Registered Architect, Professional Engineer, or equivalent.
• Japanese language capability is advantageous for communication with headquarters and Japanese stakeholders.
• Experience working for a Japanese construction company.
• Experience delivering construction projects in Singapore.
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete works and structural steel works.
• Experience in large-scale commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, transportation, healthcare, or iconic landmark developments.
• Strong leadership experience managing multicultural engineering teams.
  
  

Benefits

• Monthly Salary: S$8,000 - S$10,000
• Variable Bonus (subject to company and individual performance)
• Annual Leave: 14 days
• Medical Leave: 14 days
• Medical Benefit: Up to S$500 per annum
• Probation Period: Minimum 3 months (subject to extension based on performance)
• Overtime compensation applicable for Saturday work, where required

Monday to Friday (Occasional Saturday work may be required depending on project needs.)

8:30 AM - 5:15 PM
