Senior Engineer (Servers & Systems)
Contract Type: 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract
The Edge Contracting Services is seeking a skilled Senior Engineer - Servers & Systems to join our team on a 1-year contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, support, and optimization of enterprise server and systems infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and efficiency across multiple platforms and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and optimize VMware vCenter and virtual machines (VMs).
- Administer and support Windows Server and Linux Server environments.
- Implement and maintain Veeam Backup & Replication solutions for disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Manage and support Active Directory (user accounts, group policies, authentication, etc.).
- Monitor infrastructure performance and availability using SolarWinds and related tools.
- Perform regular upgrades, patching, and security hardening of systems.
- Provide 3rd-level technical support for server and system-related issues.
- Document processes, procedures, and system configurations.
- Support IT projects, migrations, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in servers, systems, and virtualization engineering roles.
- Strong technical knowledge and practical expertise with:
VMware vCenter & VMs
Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux environments
Veeam Backup & Replication
Active Directory Services
SolarWinds monitoring tools - Understanding of system security practices, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Certifications (a plus, not mandatory)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server / Azure Administrator
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
- SolarWinds Certified Professional
