Project: Water Treatment Plant Revamp
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Piping Engineer to lead the development of 3D composite BIM models for a major water treatment plant revamp. The role requires strong expertise in piping design, BIM coordination, and managing civil superstructure interfaces, ensuring clash-free models that are precise, constructible, and ready for review and approval within tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the piping team in producing composite 3D BIM models integrating piping, equipment, and building services (electrical, instrumentation, ACMV, fire protection & alarm, lighting, Card access, CCTV, PA System).
- Coordinate closely with civil and structural teams to define and verify:
- Accurate cutout sizes and locations for pipes, ducts, and cables.
- Civil load points on walls for supports of piping and cable trays with details of pipe & cable supports.
- Supports load points on ceilings for latching cranes and ducts.
- Correct routing and locations of sprinkler pipes to meet code and statutory approval.
- Accurate positioning of light fittings with inputs from vendor to achieve required lux levels.
- Facilitate internal model reviews and prepare final models for client/consultant approval.
- Ensure models meet project requirements for constructability, maintainability, and operability.
- Provide technical guidance, interdisciplinary coordination, and construction support as required.
- Hands-on use of AutoCAD Plant 3D (piping) and Revit (composite BIM).
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
- Minimum 15 years experience in piping design and EPC project execution.
- Proven experience in BIM-based multidisciplinary coordination, including civil-structural interface management.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, and 3D review tools (Navisworks, SPR, PDMS, S3D).
- Solid knowledge of international piping codes, standards, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication abilities.
Why Join Us
- Lead BIM-driven design on a complex water treatment plant with process-intensive buildings.
- Drive precision in civil-structural interfaces critical to cost and schedule.
- Be part of a challenging EPC project with opportunities for leadership and technical growth and career progression.
