About the role - you will:
- Lead and manage complex technical assignments in the electrical design and development of disk media processing equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Drive design reviews, ensuring compliance with safety standards for high voltage/high power systems.
- Oversee troubleshooting and root cause analysis using advanced test equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, frequency generators).
- Architect and optimize cable and PCB designs for vacuum components (gauges, MFCs, valves, turbo controllers).
- Design, upgrade and troubleshoot Power Distribution Units (PDU) for disk processing equipment.
- Champion configuration control using software tools (SAP, Windchill) and ensure robust documentation practices.
- Design and implement industrial networks (Beckhoff & Siemens), including EtherCAT, Profinet & ProfiBUS for equipment integration.
- Develop and validate programmable logic controller (PLC) hardware solutions and safety interlocks for equipment reliability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, process, and manufacturing teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- Lead projects from concept to completion, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations.

Your experience includes:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and troubleshooting for semiconductor or disk media tools (RF plasma, PVD, CVD, etch processes).
- Proven experience in EMI/EMC safety compliance, including S2/S7 and UL/TUV safety audits for high power systems (480VAC, 200Amps+).
- Track record of driving change, providing superior technical support, and collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
You might also have:
- Experience working in high-tech environments.
- Advanced knowledge of RF circuit design/troubleshooting.
- Expertise in digital, analog, and mixed-signal design.
- Industrial automation/motion and PDU design experience (480VAC/200Amp+).
- Familiarity with HAMR media, thin film, high vacuum, PVD, CVD, ICP, and Ion Beam technologies.
