Job Description
Our client is a leading startup in the semiconductor field and a leader in designing ultra low-power microprocessors. You will drive the development and testing of Zephyr software offering. This includes porting new SoCs to the Zephyr environment and enabling hardware evaluation platforms staying up-to-date with the latest Zephyr developments working within our Applications Engineering Team and will work closely with the global MCU software team.
Senior Engineer, Applications Engineering (Zephyr)
Responsibilities:
. Lead Zephyr Development - Own the development, testing and maintenance of Zephyr software offering, including SoC porting, board enablement, drivers, samples and test cases for new MCU platforms.
. Embedded Software & System Debug - Develop and debug embedded C software on Arm Cortex-M MCUs, working closely with hardware, firmware and global MCU teams to resolve complex system-level issues.
. Zephyr Ecosystem & CI/CD - Drive Zephyr repository, upstream contributions, code quality and CI/CD processes, while keeping the platform aligned with the latest Zephyr releases and requirements.
. Low-PowerOptimization - Develop and optimize software to showcase ultra-low-power MCU technology, including power profiling, performance optimization and efficient use of MCU peripherals.
. Technical Leadership & Customer Support - Lead issue resolution with applications/field teams and customers, develop technical documentation and application notes, and represent our company within the Zephyr community and technical forums.
Requirements
. Strong Zephyr Expertise - BS/MS in ECE, Computer Science or related discipline with6-8+ years of embedded software experience and at least 3 years of hands-onZephyr RTOS development.
. Deep Embedded MCU Skills - Strong experience developing embedded software in C for Arm Cortex-M processors, with a solid understanding of RTOS concepts, boot-up board bring-up and low-level hardware/software interaction.
. MCU Peripherals & Hardware Debug - Hands-on experience with SPI, I²C, UART, USB and other MCU peripherals, together with practical lab debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and similar instrumentation.
. Software Development & Automation - Strong Git/source-control experience and familiarity with CI/CD, software testing and test automation, with scripting experience in Python or similar languages.
. System-Level Problem Solving - Proven ability to investigate complex HW/SW issues across embedded systems, communicate effectively with global engineering teams and customers, and work independently in a hands-on development environment. Experience with Bluetooth, Matter/Thread, security or ML in Zephyr is advantageous.
