Hiring: Senior Director, Consulting – Portfolio Optimisation (APAC)

We're partnering with a leading global payments and financial services organization to hire a Senior Director within their Portfolio Optimisation consulting practice across Asia Pacific.
This is a high-impact, client-facing leadership role focused on helping financial institutions grow and optimize their cards and payments businesses.
The Role
As a Senior Director, you will lead strategic consulting engagements with banks and financial institutions across APAC, advising on how to improve portfolio performance, profitability, and growth.
You will work across multiple workstreams including:
- Credit card product design and launches
- Customer acquisition and channel optimization
- Portfolio diagnostics and profitability improvement
- Customer lifecycle management (activation, usage, retention)
- Portfolio migrations and transformation programs
You'll also play a key role in shaping go-to-market strategy, developing consulting frameworks, and scaling best practices across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end consulting engagements (typically 2–4 months) across multiple markets
- Advise senior client stakeholders on growth, risk, and profitability strategies
- Translate data insights into actionable business recommendations
- Partner with cross-functional teams (including data and analytics)
- Drive business development: proposals, pitches, and client engagement
- Build thought leadership (playbooks, whitepapers, solution frameworks)
Ideal Profile
- 15+ years experience in cards/payments, ideally within a bank or issuer
- Proven experience managing credit card P&L or portfolio performance
- Deep understanding of:
- Acquisition strategy
- Portfolio management
- Risk vs reward trade-offs
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking
- Executive presence with ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience across multiple markets (APAC exposure preferred)
