Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Director – Finance to lead the organization's finance function and provide strong financial leadership across accounting, financial planning and analysis, controllership, compliance, cash flow management, and business finance.

The ideal candidate should have a strong track record of managing large-scale finance operations, driving profitability, improving financial controls, supporting business growth, and partnering with senior leadership on strategic decision-making. The role requires a combination of strategic thinking, financial expertise, operational excellence, leadership capability, and strong business acumen.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Business Partnership

  • Develop and execute the organization's overall finance strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Partner with the CEO, CFO, business heads, and executive leadership on financial and strategic decisions.
  • Provide financial insights, forecasts, and recommendations to support business growth and profitability.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, investments, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives from a financial perspective.
  • Drive financial discipline and accountability across business functions.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling.
  • Establish and monitor financial KPIs, revenue targets, margins, operating expenses, and profitability metrics.
  • Analyze business performance against budgets and forecasts and provide actionable insights.
  • Develop scenario analysis and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Present financial performance and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board, where required.

3. Controllership & Accounting

  • Oversee accounting operations, month-end and year-end closing, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements and management reports.
  • Establish strong financial controls, accounting policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Drive improvements in accounting processes, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure timely completion of statutory and management reporting.

4. Compliance, Audit & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and corporate policies.
  • Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Strengthen internal controls and governance processes.
  • Work closely with tax, legal, auditors, and other external stakeholders.

5. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Drive effective cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.
  • Optimize working capital, collections, payables, and cash conversion cycles.
  • Monitor receivables, payables, and overall cash position.
  • Develop strategies to improve cash flow and financial efficiency.

6. Revenue & Profitability Management

  • Partner with business and sales teams to drive revenue growth and profitability.
  • Analyze pricing, margins, cost structures, and commercial models.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and margin improvement.
  • Establish financial governance around contracts, commercial decisions, and business commitments.

7. Digital Finance & Process Transformation

  • Lead finance transformation initiatives through automation, analytics, and technology.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual finance processes and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Drive adoption of ERP, financial planning, BI, and analytics tools.
  • Build scalable finance processes to support organizational growth.

8. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance organization.
  • Build strong succession plans and develop future finance leaders.
  • Establish clear goals, KPIs, and performance expectations for the finance team.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
  • CA / CPA / CMA / MBA Finance preferred.
  • 15–20+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior finance leadership position.
  • Proven experience managing large finance teams and complex financial operations.
  • Strong experience in FP&A, controllership, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business finance.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, taxation, statutory compliance, audit, and financial controls.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
