The Senior Director, Finance - APAC, Surgical, serves as the strategic financial steward for Alcon's Surgical business across the region. This highly visible leadership role oversees financial governance, performance management, and business partnership across multiple markets, ensuring sound financial decisions that advance Alcon's mission of helping people see brilliantly. You will guide regional financial strategies, shape longrange plans, and elevate operational and commercial performance through rigorous financial insight and disciplined execution.

Job Description:

In this role, you will lead the preparation and consolidation of statutory financial statements for the APAC Surgical business, while shaping financial reporting strategies that influence regional business direction. You will drive analysis on the implications of new accounting standards, oversee financial performance metrics, and champion improvements in reporting, governance, and business partnering.

You will partner directly with senior leadership-including Country CFOs, Regional Commercial Leaders, and Global Finance peers-to ensure the APAC Surgical business meets its financial objectives while
maintaining compliance, transparency, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Financial Performance: Lead and manage the region's P&L, aligning financial outcomes with strategic business objectives and growth priorities.
  • Executive-Level Financial Insight: Deliver actionable insights, senior-level analyses, and risk assessments to guide major operational and commercial decisions.
  • Strategic Business Partnering: Collaborate crossfunctionally to build financial models, assess investments, and strengthen decisionmaking across markets.
  • Performance Monitoring: Oversee key financial metrics: costs, revenues, capital spending and advise leadership on optimization opportunities.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Leadership: Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, SOX requirements, external reporting standards, and governance practices.
  • Support Business Development: Provide financial forecasting, scenario planning, and risk evaluation for expansion initiatives across the APAC region.
  • Reporting Excellence: Lead the preparation of monthend deliverables, accruals, reserves, and statutory filings in close partnership with Accounting and Shared Services teams.

Leadership & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/ Economics or related fields
  • 15+ years of progressive Finance experience, including 10+ years in Finance leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Senior stakeholders ability to articulate complex business situations into simple and well-articulated messages

  • Executive presence with outstanding communication skills (English + an additional global language preferred)

  • Strong leadership capability, with experience managing senior finance leaders cross functionally (FP&A, Accounting, Tax)

  • Ability to operate autonomously, navigate matrix organizations, and influence across geographies.

  • Self-driven, highly accountable, and skilled at leading complex initiatives with minimal oversight.

  • Expertise in the following areas is a plus:

  1. Capital purchasing and Equipment Financing Agreements (EFAs)
  2. Consignment processes, governance, and revenue recognition
  3. SOX reporting and disclosures, ideally as a regional signatory
