Senior Designer (Product)

We are currently in search of an experienced team member to join our design team, specifically for a new initiative in technology that will make a significant impact. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping and delivering a top-notch user experience for our clients, collaborating with a skilled team of engineers, business analysts, and operations stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities

. Plan and conduct user research activities - including interviews, surveys, and usability testing - synthesising findings into actionable insights, personas, journey maps, and service blueprints that inform product strategy and prioritisation.

. Facilitate discovery workshops with business users and stakeholders to surface pain points, map current-state workflows, and define the design scope.

. Map current-state and to-be user journeys across digital touchpoints and backend processes, articulating system interactions and technical dependencies to define optimal end-to-end experiences.

. Translate user insights and stakeholder requirements into wireframes, mock-ups, and high-fidelity Figma prototypes for usability testing, stakeholder review, and development handover.

. Develop design iterations and alternatives with clear rationale and trade-offs drive continuous refinement through usability testing and iterative improvements that simplify complex systems.

. Build and maintain design systems, component libraries, UI specifications, and interaction patterns to ensure consistency across products and support development teams during implementation.

. Collaborate closely with engineers throughout the development lifecycle - from initial concepts to final delivery - ensuring accurate and feasible implementation.

. Engage stakeholders throughout the design process - gathering requirements, prioritising problem statements, and presenting design concepts and research findings in clear, compelling formats.

Skills and Experience Required

. Diploma or bachelor's degree in design, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

. 5+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or service design, with the ability to work across complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

. Strong proficiency in Figma and other prototyping tools familiarity with Miro, Jira, or equivalent collaboration tools.

. Experienced in facilitating ideation workshops, requirements gathering, and synthesising UX design approaches with stakeholders.

. Confident in executing UX research methodologies, journey mapping, service blueprinting, visual and interaction design, and prototyping.

. Solid understanding of design systems, responsive design, and accessibility principles (WCAG 2.1 AA).

. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

. Experience in government, public sector, or large-scale enterprise settings is preferred.

. A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design process, strategic thinking, and measurable impact is required.
