Senior Design Engineer

Job Description & Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to support our LTA road viaduct project in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing site-based engineering and design support, coordinating with design consultants and construction teams, and ensuring that construction works are carried out in accordance with approved designs, technical specifications and relevant regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and design support for the construction of road viaducts, ramps, bridges and associated roadworks.
• Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries and design-related issues arising during construction.
• Review site conditions and construction drawings to identify potential design discrepancies and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.
• Prepare and review design clarifications, technical sketches and proposed design modifications for approval by the relevant Qualified Person (QP).
• Coordinate with the Design Manager, QP, consultants, project engineers and construction teams on design submissions, approvals and technical matters.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, design specifications, LTA requirements and applicable engineering standards.
• Support design reviews, Design for Safety (DfS) assessments and constructability reviews.
• Provide engineering support for structural works, including foundations, piers, abutments, precast concrete elements and viaduct superstructures.
• Review and verify as-built drawings and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with approved designs.
• Maintain proper design documentation and ensure updated drawings are communicated to relevant project teams.
• Attend technical coordination meetings and site inspections to resolve design and construction-related issues.
• Perform other engineering duties as assigned by the management.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Relevant working experience in civil and structural engineering design, preferably involving bridges, road viaducts or major infrastructure projects.
• Experience in design coordination and providing technical support during construction.
• Familiarity with Singapore structural design standards, Eurocodes and relevant LTA requirements.
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and precast structural systems would be advantageous.
• Experience in LTA projects, design submissions and coordination with Qualified Persons (QP) would be an advantage.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies, engineering drawings and design change procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Willing to be based full-time at the project site office in Singapore.
