Senior Data Scientist (Analytics)
Position description:
As a Senior Data Scientist (Analytics), you will play a pivotal role within our data team, collaborating closely with business and engineering teams. You will implement AI and data initiatives to enable business teams to get actionable insights from extensive datasets, make better strategic decisions and ultimately drive product revenue growth. This is an individual contributor role but you will lead small to medium projects, manage senior stakeholders and ensure data-driven approaches are integrated into business processes.
What you will be doing:
- Use AI to improve data related processes and efficiency in the company
- Contribute to building of data infrastructure required to adopt AI in the company
- Manage stakeholders to drive small to medium scale data analysis projects from conception to execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Understand how our investment products work and is able to present to senior management business related analysis to improve the adoption, volume and revenue of our products
- Work with business stakeholders and engineering teams to build AI friendly data pipelines using dbt, analysis frameworks and dashboards to track and improve key business metrics
- Take charge and present in business insight meetings to inform senior management of business performance and insights to improve the business
- Simulate impact of business decisions on promotions, pricing strategy and new products together with the marketing and revenue teams to inform go or no go decisions
- Drive actions to improve our business performance based on analysis insights
- Design and evaluate business experiments
- Monitor data processes to ensure that teams can rely quality, timely and reliable data to make decisions
- Effectively communicate your work with senior management, team leads and cross-functional stakeholders on a regular basis
- Guide other junior team members in technical skills and analytics
What you need to be successful for this role:
- BS in a Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Physics or a related field with 3-6 years of experience.
- Strong SQL skills. You will need to write custom queries to pull data to support your assumption and hypothesis.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Preference for Tableau).
- Experience with scripting and data analysis using Python.
- Familiarity with BigQuery and GCP would be an advantage.
- Interest or prior experience in marketing, growth, investment, financial sector or web3/cryptocurrency is a plus.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with good attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in an international team environment.
- Ability to be agile and flexible in adapting in a dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product effectiveness.
